The College of Applied and Natural Sciences, School of Human Ecology invites applications for a faculty position in the Nutrition & Dietetics Program.
This position may also include functioning as the ACEND-accredited didactic program in dietetics (DPD) director.
This is a full-time, 9-10 month appointment.
Responsibilities of the position include: 1) teaching undergraduate courses, graduate courses if rank indicates (2) advising, mentoring, and recruiting students, and 3) fulfilling the expectations of research and service commensurate with rank (4) complying with ACEND accreditation requirements.
The Nutrition & Dietetics programs include an ACEND-accredited undergraduate Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD), a Master of Science program, and a post-baccalaureate ACEND –accredited dietetic internship that works collaboratively with the Master of Science degree.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited university in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science or Public Health.
Candidate’s degree must have a minimum of 18 graduate course credits in Nutrition.
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential and eligible for licensure in the state of Louisiana and membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Five years of demonstrated professional practice experience and well-rounded in the Human Nutrition and Dietetics discipline.
Demonstrated service to the profession or community.
Excellent communication skills in forging working relationships with community partners.
Competent in using various methods of information technology.
Relevant teaching experience.
Ability to collaborate in undergraduate and graduate student research projects.
Ability to participate in grant writing activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science or Public Health
Demonstrated management/leadership experience.
Teaching experience in college-level courses and curriculum development.
Experience with ACEND accreditation.
A minimum of 5 years of professional clinical practice experience.
Professional presentations at state or national level meetings and/or peer-reviewed journal publications.
